An important part of the characterization of material in the laboratory is the study of the crystalline structure by X-ray diffraction, aka X-ray scattering. Our laboratory has two diffractometers, one is dedicated to X-ray powder diffraction, and the second is to measuring the thin layers.

Rigaku 3 and Rigaku 9

Each diffractometer is dedicated to some characterization technic, although their looks are almost identical, and they could measure the same thing.

There is some info you can see as useful.
